Rupani Foundation / Rupani Development Initiatives (RDI) – Transforming Lives has announced a vacancy for Mental Health Officer (01 Position). RDI is looking for a qualified and compassionate professional to join its mission to transform lives in Gilgit-Baltistan through mental health and psychosocial support.

Position Overview

Terms of Reference (TORs)

• Conduct mental health and psychosocial needs assessments in target communities.
• Design and implement Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) interventions.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions within professional boundaries.
• Establish and manage referral pathways for specialized mental health services.
• Conduct awareness sessions on mental health, stress management, and emotional wellbeing.
• Train project staff, teachers, caregivers, and community volunteers on basic psychosocial support.
• Develop mental health education materials and awareness campaigns.
• Support integration of mental health components into ECD, education, health, and community development programmes.
• Maintain confidential client records and case management documentation.
• Monitor programme activities and collect data against established indicators.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on programme progress and outcomes.
• Coordinate with government departments, health facilities, community organizations, and other stakeholders to strengthen mental health services.

Key Deliverables

• Mental health and psychosocial support activities implemented according to approved work plans.
• Awareness and counseling sessions conducted with documented participant records.
• Functional referral system established and maintained for mental health cases.
• Capacity-building trainings delivered to staff, teachers, and community members.
• Monitoring reports, case documentation, and programme progress reports submitted on time.

Core Competencies

• Knowledge of psychosocial support, counseling techniques, and mental health interventions.
• Ability to conduct trainings, awareness sessions, and stakeholder engagement effectively.
• Ability to assess cases, identify risks, and facilitate appropriate referrals and follow-up.
• Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality, cultural sensitivity, and ethical practice.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master's Degree in Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in mental health, counseling, psychosocial support, or community health programmes.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and community-based mental health approaches.
• Proficiency in English and Urdu.
