Key Duties and Responsibilities – UNICEF Education Officer Data Systems Karachi
1. Technical Programme Planning and Systems Assessment: Design and assess education data systems, EMIS, and digital tools for Sindh education programmes. Evaluate data architecture and system requirements for evidence-based planning.
2. Technical and Operational Support to Programme Implementation: Provide technical support to government and partners on data collection, dashboards, and education indicators. Ensure quality and timely data flow for UNICEF education projects.
3. Programme Monitoring, Reporting, and Results Management: Develop KPIs, monitoring frameworks, and results matrices. Analyze education data using Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and Business Intelligence tools. Prepare donor reports and dashboards for management decisions.
4. Government Ownership, Networking, and Partnership Building: Work with Sindh Education Department, RSU, SELD, and development partners to strengthen education data systems and ownership. Coordinate with stakeholders for data sharing and system integration.
5. Innovation, Knowledge Management, and Capacity Development: Introduce innovative data solutions, train government staff on EMIS and data visualization. Document best practices and lessons learned in education data management.
Minimum Requirements – UNICEF Education Officer NO-2 Karachi 2026
1. Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Education, Public Policy, Statistics, Economics, or other Social Science field is required. Specialized degree/courses with practical experience of dealing with education management information and data systems will be preferred.
2. Work Experience: At least 2 years of professional experience in Programme Planning, Management, and/or Research in Education is required. Relevant experience in education data analysis, management information systems and monitoring systems is required.
3. Skills Required: Data Analytics and Visualization, Business Intelligence, Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Key Performance Indicators. Strong analytical and database management skills.
4. Language Requirements: Fluency in English and Urdu is required, and Sindhi preferred. Knowledge of another official UN language Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish is an asset.
Desirable Qualifications – UN Jobs Pakistan Education Sector
1. Experience: Experience working in budget support or technical assistance context is desirable. Relevant experience at country level, particularly in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts.
2. Technical Skills: Experience with EMIS, DHIS2, OpenEMIS, SQL databases, and education sector planning tools.
3. UN Experience: Previous work with UN agencies, INGOs, or government in education data projects preferred.
