By an unknown person " when the flowers don't bloom properly, you should change the environment not the flowers".
Unfortunately, we change the flowers instead of changing the surroundings and the ailments which have been causing trouble to be bloomed with it fullest.
Coming to the point, the recent shocking but the expected result of HSSC- I of government colleges of Gilgit Baltistan has unearthed the tall claims of revamped education system in the region.
The concerned authorities had no trust on Karakoram Exam Board and they switched to the Federal Board. What the authorities have failed to understand while conducting exams through Federal Board is that, they again for the short term solution.
The dismal results of students- you can read in the below picture, should be an eye opening for the higher cadres who are responsible to produced well learned generation.
Sadly, we have been failing to catch the core problem of failing the students.
Indeed there are many factors which can he held responsible for the poor performance of the students but the actual culprit is the government itself who have failed totally to give a viable solution to this long ailment.
Sadly, I have also been through this pathetic education system of the colleges where I have been taught by the teachers who hardly know about the modern ways of teaching.
Indeed, there have come many young and talented teachers now but once they are enrolled in government colleges, they become as like the teachers who don't dare to update themselves according to the modern world.
Let's take the example of the English class where, I have experienced, the teacher fails to complete the given course. It discloses many negligence of the authorities. Either teachers are incapable of making the lesson plans or the concerned authority doesn't ask him about the development of the classes. The situation is not different in other subjects.
Last but not the least, only changing the exam board will not give assurance to get a good results unless we bring wild reforms at micro level. Teachers are trained and they are given stipends for getting the training but there is no any such neutral watchdog which keeps an eye on the trained teachers' performance in inside the classrooms.
