A Condensed Review of OIC and the Muslim World

Organisation of Islamic Co-operation(OIC) is the second largest
inter-governmental organization, after the UN in the globe and was established
on Sept 25, 1969. It contains around 57 states and of them 54 Muslim majority
states covering 4 continents of the world. Surely OIC has the sheer
responsibility to protect the Muslim world in all directions.Also OIC is known
as the sign of Muslim unity and strength world-widely.
The foundation of OIC was laid for a specific purpose by the Muslim
countries. Firstly a historical study was conducted which came to an end with
appalling results. Muslim states were not on the same page and they had a very
disintegrated behaviour to one another. As with the starting of world War One,
Turkey got involved in the war by taking the side of the Axis Powers,Germany
and its allies. Soon they were badly defeated by the Allied Powers.
Anyway,Turkey,after signing a treaty, loses a greater part of Ottoman territory
to the Allies who distributed the chunks with one another in 1920.
Similarly, in 1948 India controls Jammu and Kashmir,attacks Pakistan in
1965 and in 1967 Israel rages war on three Arab states,Jordan,Syria and Egypt.
Keeping all these unfortunate events in mind, the Muslim World decides to have
an organization so that the Muslim Umma's security, socio-political and other
interests could be protected in future. They assured one another to go to any
extent against the external elements,if interfered.
However such was a wonderful planning among the brotherhood countries.
There coud have been the least chances
of doubt regarding their relationships. But, very sadly, the fact is something
else today. Those relations are turned into ashes and became the part of
history. Practically speaking, for states of this modern era, it just takes few
moments to change their priorities. They are focused and not much concerned
about their neighbour countries or with their ongoing affairs.Now while
welcoming the external elements,the Islamic countries have also changed their
directions. They decide to choose national interests over close relations. They
choose billion and trillion dollars over brother states.It has really become
too easy to forget the purpose of OIC or any connection with any brotherhood
country today because the goal is to focus on the personal interests.
Enhancing healthy relations with mighty economic powers, assurance of any
cooperation and promising to watch the burning homes of brothers are on the top
list of those Muslim states who have been knowingly ignoring the current Kashmir
issue. Instead of doing something practical regarding the unjust step of India
towards kashmiri brothers who are under the brutality of Indian forces today,a
fake condemnation is entertained.
The whole world knows very well that what is happening in Indian occupied
Kashmir today, and even the BBC and other sources come up with different
stories of malevolence from inside the Jammu and Kashmir. Women lose their
dignity on daily basis.Men are shot down and burried.Children are dying of
hunger and diseases and those rules and regulations or promises of OIC are
useless in this regard.The whole Muslim nation is entering the red zone.Being
on the top list of the Organization, Pakistan seems faild to win the confidence
vote of OIC.
In fact, OIC seems not on the same page today. Such a huge strength can do
anything if it is done wilfully or intentionally. When it comes to the Indian
openly committed crime, declaring the disputed terrority of Kashmir its
integeral part, the Muslim organization seems shut up, despite of knowning its grave future outcomes. Such a
mighty Muslim institution do nothing but expressing worries on Kashmir today.
On the other hand, Paskitan is seemingly done with Indian government now. A
goodbye to bilateralism has been already expressed.Office of the Islamabad is
failed to take any practical actions so far. The UNSC visit was taken as a sign
of victory but since then overwhelming number of kashmiris have been reportdly
shot down by the Indian army.
According to The Hindu Newspaper, on
August 23 and 24 Modi will visit the United Arab Emirates where he will be
awarded with the Order of Zayed, which is the highest award of the country.
Similarly he will also pay a visit to Bahrain for launching the renovation of a
temple of Shreenathji but nobody asks what the RSS is doing with Muslim Mosques
in India and this is the condition of Muslims States today. Also the great
Saudi Arabi looks forward for its Aramco deal with India wich is thought as a
game changer for India's security.
Likewise there is a lot to narrate about the bonds of Muslim states with
those countries who are planning to purge the entire Muslim history.But they
will never take a stand for the genocide of Kashmiris.What someone is going to
do with that OIC which is not on the same page if needed. They are watching
Kashmiries sinking and fading away. A targeted racial war is going on and
thousands have been unnaturally killed. Still there is no sign of hope for them
from the 1.8 billion Muslims living around the globe.If this situation remains
unchanged, every Muslim must be thinking of his survival in the upcoming
future. Looking at this complex scenario, OIC stays somewhere back,far away. In
such cases, a collective voice of OIC for the occupied Kashmir, could be heard
only in terms of animadversion.
