FPSC has recommended the following candidates for appointment against the post of Medico Legal Officers (BS-17) on Gilgit-Baltistan quota:

Important Notes from FPSC Public Notice
1. 07 Posts Remain Vacant: In view of the above, the Commission has no name to recommend for 07 posts of Gilgit Baltistan. This includes 06 posts under Open Merit and 01 post under GB Women Quota.
2. Low Merit / Failed Interview: The remaining candidates in the instant case are low in order of merit or failed in interview.
3. No Further Communication: It may be noted that no further written communication shall be made in this regard.
What is a Medico Legal Officer (MLO) BS-17?
Medico Legal Officers are MBBS doctors appointed in the Health Department to conduct medico-legal examinations, post-mortems, injury reports, and appear in courts as expert medical witnesses. In Gilgit-Baltistan, MLOs are posted in DHQ Hospitals and serve as key links between the health system and criminal justice system. This is a BS-17 gazetted post under Federal Government with permanent service structure.
Selection Process for FPSC Medico Legal Officer GB
Candidates for MLO BS-17 go through the following FPSC stages:
- Eligibility: MBBS degree recognized by PMDC/PMC with valid registration, plus 01 year house job. Domicile of Gilgit-Baltistan required for GB quota.
- Written Test: FPSC conducted descriptive/MCQ test for Medico Legal Officer posts under Case No.F.4-104/2025-R-FS-II.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates appeared before FPSC panel at Islamabad.
- Final Recommendation: Only 02 candidates – Muhammad Ali and Syeda Iman Fatima Rizvi – qualified on merit and have been recommended for appointment.
What Happens Next for Recommended Candidates?
The FPSC recommendation has been sent to the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit Baltistan and Health Department GB. The Ministry will now issue appointment letters to Muhammad Ali and Syeda Iman Fatima Rizvi after medical fitness, security clearance, and document verification. Posting will be in DHQ hospitals of Gilgit-Baltistan as per Health Department requirements.
Status of Remaining 07 MLO Posts for GB
Out of total advertised posts, 06 Open Merit and 01 Women Quota posts for Gilgit-Baltistan remain vacant because no other candidate met the merit/interview criteria. FPSC has clearly stated that no further communication will be made. These posts will likely be re-advertised by FPSC in future consolidated advertisement.
For Candidates Who Were Not Recommended
FPSC has mentioned that remaining candidates were low in order of merit or failed in interview. As per FPSC policy, marks of written test and interview can be obtained by submitting application to AD (ST), FPSC. No re-interview or review will be conducted for this advertisement.
