Role Overview

The Associate Investment Officer will play a key role in supporting IFC’s mission of promoting sustainable private sector investment in emerging markets. The selected candidate will engage in sourcing, structuring, and closing investments in infrastructure sectors while maintaining oversight of IFC’s existing portfolio.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identifying investment opportunities and building strong client relationships

  • Structuring complex project finance and corporate transactions

  • Managing and supervising loan and equity investments, including restructuring or exits

  • Conducting financial, market, and sector analysis

  • Supporting investment teams across the region to advance infrastructure development

  • Coordinating with technical experts, external partners, and other stakeholders


Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the following selection criteria:

Education

  • Master’s degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in infrastructure project investment or financing.

  • Proven expertise in sourcing, structuring, and closing investment deals.

  • Experience supervising loan and equity portfolios, including restructurings.

Technical Skills

  • Strong financial and credit analysis capabilities.

  • Ability to structure project finance, corporate debt, and equity instruments.

  • Knowledge of infrastructure sectors such as power, transport, utilities, telecoms, natural resources, and technology.

  • Experience in gas flaring reduction or methane abatement is a plus.
