Job Description:

As a District Coordinator for the Aga Khan Health Service Gilgit-Baltistan, the primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth and efficient implementation of health activities within the assigned district. This includes engaging with district-level stakeholders such as District Health Officers (DHOs), Medical Superintendents (MS) at Health Facility levels, and other key individuals at the Union Council (UC) level. Your role will be pivotal in coordinating efforts related to immunization, nutrition, and maternal and child health (MCH), which are critical areas of focus for the AKHS programs in Gilgit-Baltistan.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Engage with District-Level Stakeholders:
    As a District Coordinator, you will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with district-level stakeholders, including DHOs, MS at Health Facilities, Lady Health Workers (LHWs), and vaccinators. Your role is to ensure that all health-related activities are carried out effectively and that any challenges or issues are addressed promptly.

  2. Supervise Health-Related Activities in the District:
    You will engage with internal program teams to oversee the implementation of health-related activities, particularly focusing on immunization and nutrition programs. You will ensure that these activities are carried out in line with the project work plan and timeline, and you will be responsible for monitoring the progress of these initiatives.

  3. Plan and Conduct Health Activities:
    As part of your role, you will plan and conduct health activities for all donor-funded programs in the district. This includes working closely with the District Health Management Teams (DHMT) and conducting regular progress review meetings to ensure that all activities are on track and that any challenges are addressed in a timely manner.

  4. Develop, Implement, and Monitor Field Activity Plans:
    Based on the overall project work plan, you will be required to develop and implement detailed field activity plans. You will monitor these plans to ensure that they are being followed and that project goals are being met.
