MDCAT-2024 For Admissions in MBBS/BDS Institutions

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) is pleased to announce that the MDCAT-2024 For Admissions in MBBS/BDS Institutions will be conducted both nationally and internationally on 22nd September 2024 (Sunday). This significant examination, crucial for aspiring medical and dental students, will be administered through admitting universities across all provinces, Islamabad, and Gilgit Baltistan. The paper-based exam will be held simultaneously at all designated centers and venues, ensuring a standardized testing environment for all candidates.

Participating Universities and Venues

The details of the universities responsible for conducting the MDCAT-2024 For Admissions in MBBS/BDS Institutions and their respective venues are as follows:

1. Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University (Islamabad, AJK & International)
2. University of Health Sciences, Lahore (Punjab)
3. Khyber Medical University (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)
4. Dow University of Health Sciences Karachi (Sindh)
5. Bolan University of Medical & Health Sciences Quetta (Baluchistan)
6. Karakoram International University Konodass (Gilgit Baltistan)

Schedule and Fees for MDCAT-2024

The schedule and fees for the MDCAT-2024 For Admissions in MBBS/BDS Institutions are as follows:

• Online Registration Portal for Entry Exam Starts: 5th August 2024
• Online Registration Portal for Entry Exam Ends: 19th August 2024
• Online Registration Portal for Entry Exam with Late Fee Ends: 20th to 26th August 2024
• MDCAT-2024 Exam: Sunday, 22nd September 2024 at 10:00 AM

Registration Fees

• For Exam in Pakistan: Rs. 8,000 (Non-refundable/Non-transferable)
• Late Registration Fee for Exam in Pakistan: Rs. 12,000 (Non-refundable/Non-transferable)
• For International Exam Centres: Rs. 40,000 (Non-refundable/Non-transferable)
• Late Registration Fee for International Exam Centres: Rs. 50,000 (Non-refundable/Non-transferable)

Note: The test will be conducted simultaneously at all local exam centres at 10:00 AM PST. The timings for the test at international centres will be indicated on the admit card.

Validity and Retake Policy

1. A candidate's MDCAT result shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of the exam.
2. If a candidate retakes the MDCAT exam within this period, the highest attained result can be used for application to medical or dental colleges.

MDCAT-2024 For Admissions in MBBS/BDS Institutions will be conducted in the following cities/stations, depending on the number of applicants:

• Punjab: Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, D.G. Khan, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Gujrat, Rahim Yar Khan
• Sindh: Karachi, Jamshoro, Shaheed Benazirabad, Larkana, Sukkur
• KPK: Peshawar, Mardan, Swat, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Abbottabad, Lower Dir
• AJ&K: Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Rawalakot
• Baluchistan: Quetta (Bolan University of Medical & Health Sciences)
• Gilgit Baltistan: Gilgit (Karakoram International University Konodass)
• International: Riyadh (Saudi Arabia), Dubai (UAE)

Choice of Local Centre

Candidates are advised to choose one city/station as per their preference for the entry exam. For convenience, candidates should select the city/station nearest to their residence. Please note that once selected, the city/station cannot be changed.

Pattern of MDCAT-2024

The MDCAT-2024 For Admissions in MBBS/BDS Institutions will be a multiple-choice, paper-based exam conducted in English. It will consist of 200 MCQs with the following weightage:

• Biology: 68 MCQs
• Chemistry: 54 MCQs
• Physics: 54 MCQs
• English: 18 MCQs
• Logical Reasoning: 6 MCQs

Difficulty Levels

• Easy: 20%
• Moderate: 60%
• Hard: 20%

Cognition Levels

• Recall: 70%
• Application: 30%
