The Department of Local Government & Rural Development, Gilgit-Baltistan, plays a pivotal role in the sustainable development and administration of the region. As part of its ongoing efforts to ensure effective governance and infrastructure development across Gilgit-Baltistan, the department has announced various permanent job vacancies. The Department of Local Government & Rural Development, Gilgit-Baltistan, is currently accepting applications for the following positions:
Data Entry Operator (BPS-15)
- Age Limit: 20-28 years
- No. of Posts: 02
- Office Location:
- 01: Central Directorate, Gilgit-Baltistan
- 01: Deputy Director Office, Kharmang
- Domicile: Relevant District
- Qualification: A 2nd Class Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Economics is required, along with a minimum typing speed of 10,000 key depressions/hour.
UDC (BPS-14)
- Age Limit: 20-28 years
- No. of Posts: 05
- Office Location: Directorate, Baltistan
- Domicile: Relevant District
- Qualification: A 2nd Class Bachelor's Degree from a recognized institution is required. Preference will be given to candidates with computer literacy.
Audio/Video Operator (BPS-14)
- Age Limit: 18-28 years

- Qualification: Intermediate with 4 years of experience in audio/video operations, including the setup and maintenance of equipment such as projectors, cameras, and lighting techniques.

Secretary, Union Council (BPS-07)
- Age Limit: 18-28 years

- Office Locations: Various Union Councils across multiple districts, including Skardu, Kharmang, Astore, Hunza, Ghanche, and others
- Domicile: Relevant District
- Qualification: Matriculation with a 3-month computer course. Candidates must be residents of the district where the position is located.
Plumber (BPS-05)
- Age Limit: 18-28 years

- Qualification: Matriculation with a plumbing diploma or certificate. Relevant experience will be considered an advantage.
Driver (BPS-05)
- Age Limit: 18-28 years

- Qualification: Matriculation with a valid HTV/LTV driving license. Candidates must be familiar with the local geography and traffic regulations.
Chowkidar (BPS-01)

- Qualification: Primary pass. Previous experience as a security guard or watchman will be preferred.
Naib Qasid/Chowkidar/Sweeper (BPS-02)

- Qualification: Primary pass. Experience in similar roles will be an asset.
Sweeper (BPS-01)

Application Submission:
- Candidates must submit their applications to the office where the vacancy exists, along with all required documents.
- After submitting the application, candidates must obtain a receipt from the relevant office. This receipt is mandatory for participation in the test/interview. Without the receipt, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the test/interview.
Application Deadline:
- For positions in BPS 11-15, applications along with attested copies of documents, domicile, CNIC, experience certificates, and passport-sized photographs must be submitted by September 20, 2024, to the Secretary, Local Government & Rural Development, Gilgit-Baltistan.
- For positions in BPS 01-09, applications must be submitted to the relevant office by the same deadline of September 20, 2024.
- Incomplete applications or those submitted without the required documents will not be entertained. No applications will be accepted after the deadline.
Age Relaxation:
- Age relaxation will be provided as per government rules and regulations.
Government Employees:
- Government and semi-government employees can apply through proper channels, with the approval of their respective departments.
Selection Criteria:
- Only candidates who meet the educational qualifications and experience criteria will be called for the test/interview.
- Preference will be given to contract/daily wage employees who are already working in the Department of Local Government & Rural Development Gilgit-Baltistan.
Vacancy Adjustments:
- The number of vacancies may be subject to change at the discretion of the department.
No TA/DA:
- No TA/DA will be provided to candidates appearing for the test/interview.
