Job Title: Assistant Manager Value Chain
Reports To: Business Plan Marketing Specialist

Job Summary & Specific Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Business Plan Marketing Specialist, the Assistant Manager Value Chain will develop and implement value chain development plans to strengthen local value chains and achieve the business objectives of Farmer Organizations. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to create comprehensive marketing strategies, analyze market trends, and ensure alignment with the overall business goals of Farmer Organizations.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development: Collaborate with program management and Farmer Organizations to design value chain development strategies and activities that align with business plans, ensuring a clear and cohesive approach.
- Market Research: Conduct thorough research in the prioritized value chains to identify trends, opportunities, and potential challenges for the Farmer Organizations, using this data to develop strategies for strengthening the value chains.
- Activity Planning: Plan activities that are tightly integrated with the overall business plans, ensuring consistency and alignment with Farmer Organizations' goals.
- Technology Sourcing: Identify and source improved, appropriate scale, and cost-effective processing technologies for the horticulture sector, with an emphasis on perennial fruits and nuts.
- Training Facilitation: Introduce and facilitate training in the use of improved pre- and post-harvest methods, coordinating these efforts across value chain actors to meet specific market requirements.
- Technology Introduction: Facilitate the development and introduction of technologies, packaging, or other products that improve efficiencies within the value chains with direct engagement of the private sector.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with Farmer Organizations and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution of activities.
- Trend Analysis: Examine emerging trends and competitor initiatives to enhance positioning in value chain development, ensuring a proactive stance in the competitive business environment.
- Proposal Support: Provide support in developing project proposals and concept papers for the program in consultation with the Farmer Organizations and program management.
- Media Projection: Assist in the projection of program activities through social, print, and electronic media.
- Additional Tasks: Perform any other task assigned by the management.
Qualifications / Experience
- Minimum 16 years of education in agriculture, preferably horticulture or agribusiness.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word. Working knowledge of Canva (or other related programs) and social media is desirable.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
