Job Description:

As a Midwife at Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, you will be responsible for a wide range of duties aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of mothers and newborns. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Conducting normal deliveries and assisting doctors in the labor room during complicated deliveries.
Providing admission and discharge teaching to each client.
Maintaining nursing documentation according to protocol.
Following infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections.
Providing antenatal, intranatal, and postnatal care to mothers and newborns.
Offering family planning services and counseling to clients.
Consulting Gynecologists and senior LMOs in case of emergencies.
Receiving newborns and performing resuscitation as required.
Ensuring the functioning and sterilization of the labor room and all required instruments/supplies.
Ensuring the proper functioning of technical equipment and informing the Biomedical Engineer in case of any damage or concerns.
Assisting in the Neonatal Unit (NNU), Emergency Room (ER), and other inpatient and outpatient areas for nursing-related tasks.

Skills Required:

Certification in I/V cannulation and Medication Administration (if relevant to the role).
Understanding of infection control and nursing protocols.
Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
