PhD Scholarships in USA Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Sciences, or a closely related field to be eligible for admission to the PhD programs in Electrical Engineering (EE) or Material Science and Engineering (MSE). A minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in the highest degree earned is mandatory.

In addition to academic qualifications, candidates are required to submit test scores for TOEFL (minimum 92), IELTS (minimum 6.5), Duolingo (minimum 110), and Pearson (minimum 54). Waivers for these tests will be automatically granted if the applicant's earned degree is from a country where English is the official language. Alternatively, waivers may be considered if the applicant meets specific conditions (waiver information provided).

While the ETS GRE General Test score is a prerequisite, exceptions are made for applicants who have obtained their bachelor's (BS) degree from an ABET accredited university in the United States with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. It is noteworthy that although GRE scores are required, the minimum scores are not strictly enforced.
