Yenching Postgraduate Scholarship at Peking University, China
The Yenching Academy offers a generous postgraduate scholarship covering tuition fees, travel stipend for one round-trip journey between the Scholar’s base city and Beijing, accommodations, and living costs on Peking University’s campus. The Academy fosters a residential program aimed at building a community of enthusiastic, globally oriented young innovators within China’s premier university. Close proximity to Peking University’s academic infrastructure provides a unique opportunity to engage fully in university life.
International students spend 12 months in residence at the Yenching Academy, with the option to extend for a second year. For Chinese students (including those from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan), the program lasts 24 months. Coursework is completed during fall and spring semesters, supplemented by additional study in the summer. After their year in residence, students have up to one more year to finalize projects and defend their thesis. During this period, students in good academic standing may apply for Teaching, Research, or Administrative Assistantships. Additionally, Dean’s Research Grants will be awarded bi-annually to fund selected research projects related to China Studies.
