University of Sydney Business School International Partial Tuition Scholarships 2018
The University of Sydney Business School is delighted to announce the availability of International Partial Tuition Scholarships for the year 2018. This scholarship program is open to international students, offering an opportunity to pursue higher education at one of Australia's leading business schools.
About the Scholarship:
Eligibility:
- The International Partial Tuition Scholarships are open to international students interested in pursuing their academic journey at the University of Sydney Business School.
Gender Equity in MBA Program:
- Sydney Business School, University of Wollongong, is dedicated to achieving gender equity in its MBA program. As part of this commitment, the school is introducing the "50 Women in MBA Scholarships" initiative to encourage greater participation of women in MBA programs.
Impact of MBA on Career Pathways:
- An MBA qualification holds significant influence on career pathways, particularly in propelling middle-managers toward executive roles. Sydney Business School aims to collaborate with businesses to identify and support women in middle management through the MBA program.
Financial Support:
- The scholarship provides financial support to eligible candidates. The University of Sydney Business School will match the business partner's contribution dollar for dollar, up to 50 per cent. To qualify, the business partner must contribute a minimum of 15 per cent of the total program costs per nominated recipient.
Business Partner Support:
- Business partners are expected to offer practical support to enable scholarship recipients to attend classes, engage in additional studies and group work, and complete assignments.
Guidance and Advice:
- Recipients will benefit from guidance and advice through mentorship. The business partner will provide an in-house mentor, while the university will offer a personal mentor outside the student's organization to provide additional support.
Application Process:
Nomination by Employer:
- Women who are Australian citizens or permanent residents must seek nomination from their employer. Employers must agree to contribute between 15-50 per cent towards the cost of completing the MBA.
Application Submission:
- After obtaining employer nomination and support, applicants must complete the application form. This, along with their resume, statement of motivation, and the employer's statement, should be submitted to mba-scholarship@uow.edu.au.
Employer's Responsibilities:
- Employers are required to provide financial support, a one-page Employer Statement, and support to enable the recipient's active participation in the MBA program.
