What is Director Physical Education (DPE) BS-16?
Director Physical Education (Male) BS-16 is a gazetted post in the Higher Technical & Special Education Department, Gilgit-Baltistan. DPEs are responsible for organizing sports, physical training, and co-curricular activities in technical institutes, polytechnic colleges, and special education centers across GB. The role includes managing sports events, training students in athletics, maintaining sports equipment, and promoting physical education as per departmental policy.
FPSC Selection Process for DPE BS-16 GB
Candidates for Director Physical Education BS-16 went through the following FPSC recruitment stages:
- Eligibility: Master’s Degree in Physical Education (MPEd/MSc Physical Education) from HEC recognized university. Domicile of Gilgit-Baltistan required for GB quota.
- Written Test: FPSC conducted MCQ/Descriptive test under Case No.F.4-100/2025-R-FS-II for DPE posts.
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates appeared before FPSC interview panel at Islamabad.
- Final Merit: Only 02 candidates – ZAHID and SAQIB YOUSUF – qualified on merit and have been recommended for appointment on GB Open Merit seats.
What Happens Next for Recommended Candidates?
The FPSC recommendation has been forwarded to the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs & Gilgit Baltistan and Higher Technical & Special Education Department GB. The Ministry will now issue appointment letters to ZAHID and SAQIB YOUSUF after medical fitness, character/security verification, and document verification. Posting will be made in technical institutes/special education centers of Gilgit-Baltistan as per departmental need.
For Candidates Who Were Not Recommended
As per FPSC press release, remaining candidates were either low in order of merit or failed the interview. No re-interview or review will be conducted for this case. Candidates can obtain their marks by submitting an application to AD (ST), FPSC as per procedure mentioned in FPSC rules.
