Gilgit-Baltistan Rural Support Programme (GBRSP) – Student Internship Program (SIP) 2026

The Gilgit-Baltistan Rural Support Programme (GBRSP), in collaboration with the School Education Department (SED), Government of Gilgit-Baltistan, has announced the Student Internship Program (SIP) for Fresh Graduates of GB. This initiative aims to provide valuable teaching and professional experience to fresh science-background graduates across all ten districts of Gilgit-Baltistan.

Program Overview

A total of 127 internship positions are available, with interns placed in public sector schools throughout GB. Selection will be made based on district-wise quotas and school requirements. The program is designed to enhance teaching-learning activities and provide IT support where needed.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Permanent resident of Gilgit-Baltistan.
  • Completed 16 years of education (Bachelor’s or Master’s/MS in Science subjects) after 2020 from HEC-recognized institutions.
  • Disciplines include Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Engineering Technology, Chemistry, Food Sciences, Biology, Life Sciences, Zoology, Botany, Environmental Science, Agriculture, DVM, Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering.
  • At least second class or grade C.
  • Not previously benefited from any government internship program.
  • Degrees completed before 2020 are not eligible.
  • Interns will perform teaching activities; IT graduates may also be engaged in offices.

Special Considerations

  • 3% participation reserved for differently-abled graduates.
  • Unused district quota may be reallocated to districts with higher teacher shortages.
  • GBRSP reserves the right to cancel candidature if fraudulent documents are found.
