First woman Deputy Commissioner in Gilgit-Baltistan , Mehreen Abbasi, DC Hunza.



 District Hunza's newly appointed Deputy Commissioner, Madam Mehreen Fahim Abbasi, has assumed charge of her duties and begun work. Madam Mehreen Fahim Abbasi is honored to become the first female DC of Gilgit-Baltistan. Previously, she was serving as Additional Secretary Finance in the Finance Department. She has served in significant positions in KP, Punjab, and Islamabad.

The Deputy Commissioner held introductory meetings with Assistant Commissioners, all three Tehsildars, and Revenue staff. She emphasized that district development and welfare of the people are her top priorities. She stated, "All officers are part of my team; working together will bring improvements in administrative matters." She promised special attention to health, education, and cleanliness. The district's issues will be resolved on a priority basis, and all resources will be mobilized.

She directed Assistant Commissioners to ensure regular visits to government schools and hospitals, identify deficiencies, and promptly address them to provide relief to the public. Emphasis was placed on cleanliness and sanitation in markets and shops.

Assistant Commissioners were also instructed to prioritize action on Chief Secretary's indicators. The Deputy Commissioner stressed promoting tourism by paying special attention to historical sites. Achieving revenue collection targets and focusing on price control mechanisms were highlighted.

During the occasion, Assistant Commissioners from both divisions briefed about their respective districts.
