Overview:

The Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan (AKHS, P) is currently seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Program Manager for the Integrated Package of Systems Strengthening, Nutrition, and Immunizations in Pakistan (SNIP) project. This project, supported by Gavi the Vaccine Alliance and The Power of Nutrition, aims to reduce infant and child mortality and morbidity due to vaccine-preventable diseases and undernutrition in priority districts of Pakistan.

Role Summary:

The Program Manager will be responsible for successfully implementing the SNIP project in various districts of Gilgit Baltistan. This role will involve providing technical support and guidance to district teams, coordinating with provincial teams and project management, and ensuring effective program management, monitoring, and delivery of results around immunization efforts and nutrition interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support integration and system strengthening needs for immunization and nutrition: Provide expertise and guidance to district teams, ensuring they are equipped with necessary knowledge and resources for effective project implementation.

  2. Act as a liaison between provincial teams and higher-level project management: Serve as a bridge between provincial teams and higher-level project management, ensuring smooth communication and addressing concerns or challenges arising at the provincial level.

  3. Coordination, communication, and stakeholder management: Facilitate seamless communication and collaboration between Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), Provincial Health Department, and project stakeholders, fostering a collaborative environment to enhance project objectives.

  4. Ensure effective program/project management, monitoring, and delivery of results: Develop and implement strategies to increase immunization levels and uptake of nutritional interventions, oversee procurement requirements, and ensure timely implementation of project activities.

Qualification & Experience:

  • MBBS, BScN/ MScN, MPH, or Diploma in Public Health
  • At least 5 years’ experience in project/program management/coordination in development sector
  • Previous experience working with Provincial Department of Health will be an added advantage
  • Proficiency in technical report writing, proposal writing, and professional software

Skills, Ability, and Traits Required:

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to deliver results according to time-bound deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to train others
  • High standard of writing ability
  • Flexibility to work with diverse program teams and support evolving work streams
  • Willingness to travel to program-focused geographic areas
