The Fulbright Master's and PhD Program, funded by the United States Department of State, supports graduate studies in the U.S. This initiative covers tuition, textbooks, airfare, living stipend, and health insurance. The program, administered by USEFP, aids in the visa process.

Master's Program Eligibility:

  • Candidates need a four-year Bachelor's degree or a Bachelor's and Master's combination (16 years of education).
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, except for MBA and Public Policy/Administration applicants who require 2 years of work experience.

PhD Program Eligibility:

  • Applicants must hold a Master's, M.Phil, or equivalent degree (minimum 18 years of education).
  • Work experience in teaching, research, or the public sector in Pakistan is desirable.

General Requirements:

  • All academic disciplines are eligible, except clinical medicine.
  • GRE General Exam is mandatory with a minimum score of 145 on each section.
  • Fluency in spoken and written English is essential; the Duolingo Test of English is required for shortlisted candidates.

Application Process:

  • Applications are accepted annually from November to February.
  • Review and interviews occur until August, with results announced in mid-September.
  • Selected candidates undergo university submission and placement until February.
  • Visa interviews take place until June, and departures commence in July.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Pakistani citizens residing in Pakistan throughout the process, committed to returning and serving Pakistan.
  • All disciplines eligible except clinical medicine; emphasis on energy, water, agriculture, health, education, environment, and climate change.
  • Master's applicants need a four-year Bachelor's degree, and PhD applicants require a Master's, M.Phil., or equivalent degree.

How to Apply:

  • Submit online with an application form, three reference letters, GRE score report, and scanned transcripts.
  • Preferred: HEC-attested documents; acceptable: degree and transcripts attested by the issuing authority.
  • Incomplete applications or paper submissions will not be considered.

Obligations for Successful Candidates:

  • Sign a contract with USEFP.
  • PhD candidates commit to returning to Pakistan immediately after the U.S. program, serving for years equivalent to the scholarship duration.
  • The contract is redeemable year-for-year, with a minimum of two years of service.
