JOB SUMMARY World Wildlife Fund :

Under the overall guidance and supervision of Director North, Manager GIS Lab, and Project Coordinator, the Geographic Information System Officer will be responsible for assisting the Project Coordinator/KfW team in the day-to-day implementation activities in the KfW project in the Gilgit Region.

World Wildlife Fund DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop GIS and Remote Sensing-based science work and GIS-based maps for the KfW and other projects in the GB region.

2. Develop a comprehensive GIS-based survey of all project areas, including plantation patches/plots, irrigation channels, irrigated fields, marginal lands brought under vegetation, hydropower, etc.

3. Monitor changes in activities through GIS, remote sensing, and online available satellite images under the KfW and other projects in GB.

4. Prepare land use maps and results matrix monitoring and reporting according to the templates mentioned in project documents.

5. Ensure timely delivery of tasks/assignments for the projects.

6. Liaise with stakeholders/partners/project communities for timely delivery and active participation in the field, where needed.

7. Prepare presentations and assist the project lead in delivering presentations to stakeholders.

8. Support the organization of events and capacity-building workshops in the field with the project team.

9. Accomplish any other tasks apart from the ToRs assigned by the Director North, Manager GIS, WWF-Pakistan, and Project Coordinator.

10. Prepare field and technical reports and ensure their timely submission to the Supervisor.

11. Maintain all project-related data in hard and soft forms.

12. Handover all project-related data to the office management.

World Wildlife Fund SELECTION CRITERIA QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

- Four years Degree (or equivalent) in RS & GIS, or Geography, Natural Sciences with a special focus/certification in GIS and remote sensing techniques.

- Proficiency in MS Office, ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI, computer hardware & software.

- Advanced skills in Remote Sensing, working with Landsat/Sentinel, and other satellite imageries.

- At least 01-02 years of work experience in the implementation of community projects.

- Previous relevant experience with WWF-Pakistan will be preferred.

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES World Wildlife Fund:

- Demonstrated ability to plan and implement project interventions.

- Excellent in English and local languages, writing, and communication skills.

- Physically fit for traveling/trekking in rugged mountain areas.
