Justice Project Pakistan is delighted to announce the commencement of applications for its inaugural Capital Defence Fellowship—a comprehensive training workshop designed for mid-career lawyers and capital defenders.
Scheduled to unfold in Islamabad, Pakistan, the Fellowship offers selected candidates the chance to engage in specialized training, receive litigation support, and contribute to a community of like-minded professionals.
JPP encourages applications from mid-career criminal defense lawyers practicing in common law jurisdictions within Pakistan.
The 2024 Capital Defence Fellowship is set to transpire from June 3rd to June 11th, bringing together participants from across Pakistan to undergo training and mentorship facilitated by a team of prominent experts in death penalty representation from around the globe. Following their training, participants will become part of an expanding network of Fellows worldwide committed to innovative practices and addressing challenges related to the application of the death penalty. Fellows are expected to organize follow-up training sessions in their respective regions to disseminate the lessons acquired during the Fellowship to their colleagues and beyond.
Participating Fellows will receive support covering airfare, accommodation, and meals.
