POSITIONS VACANT

The University of Baltistan, Skardu (UoBS) invites applications from Pakistani Nationals for various faculty positions. The university, situated amidst the Karakoram and Himalaya mountain ranges, is newly established and offers education in Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities. UoBS is dedicated to exploring and sharing the region's rich natural resources. The university is committed to providing equal opportunities regardless of caste, creed, gender, or region.

Eligibility Criteria (As Per HEC)

1. Lecturer BPS-18

   • Minimum Qualification: First Class MS/MPhil/equivalent degree awarded after 18 years of education in the relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution with no 3rd division in the academic career.
   • Experience: No experience required.
   • Publications: Preferred.
   • Age Limit: 21-35 Years.

2. Assistant Professor BPS-19/TTS

   • Minimum Qualification: PhD in the relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution.
   • Experience: No experience required.
   • Publications: Preferred.
   • Age Limit: 30-45 Years.

3. Associate Professor BPS-20/TTS

   • Minimum Qualification: PhD in the relevant field from an HEC recognized University/Institution.
   • Experience: 10 years teaching/research experience in an HEC recognized University or a postgraduate Institution or professional experience in the relevant field in a National or International organization OR 5 years post-PhD teaching/research experience.
   • Minimum Number of Publications: The applicant must have 10 research publications (with at least 4 publications in the last 5 years in HEC recognized Journals).
   • Age Limit: 35-50 Years.

4. Professor BPS-21/TTS

   • Minimum Qualification: PhD from an HEC recognized Institution in the relevant field.
   • Experience: 15 years teaching/research experience OR 10 years post-Ph.D. teaching/research experience.
   • Minimum Number of Publications: The applicant must have 15 research publications with at least 5 publications in the last 5 years in HEC recognized journals.
   • Age Limit: 35-55 Years.

5. Museum Curator BPS-17

   • Qualification: MA/M.Sc in History, Literature, Sociology, Archaeology, or any other relevant subject with two years of experience in museum development and management.

Instructions:

1. All candidates must fill out the online application form at www.uobs.edu.pk within the given due date.
2. Applicants must deposit Rs.3000/- non-refundable application processing fee online for each position separately in the name of University of Baltistan, Skardu.
3. Incomplete or applications received after the due date will not be entertained.
4. Candidates applying for more than one post shall submit separate applications and application processing fees for each position.
5. The University reserves the right not to fill/withdraw/change any number of positions without assigning any reason.
6. Government employees must submit a NOC with the application form.
7. Certificates of post-graduate teaching experience and other relevant certificates must be submitted online.
8. Candidates must submit HEC Equivalence Certificate(s) where applicable.
9. All appointments are subject to verification of degrees from HEC.
10. The upper age limit may be relaxed as per Government/HEC Rules.
11. Communication during the selection process will be made through official email (hrm@uobs.edu.pk).
12. No TA/DA will be admissible for the interview.
13. Applications must be submitted online not later than January 15, 2019.
