Australia Awards - Scholarship Information
The Australia Awards, funded by the Australian Government, are prestigious international scholarships and fellowships. These awards aim to contribute to the long-term development needs of Australia's partner countries in alignment with global, bilateral, and regional agreements. Administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Department of Education, and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR), these scholarships offer opportunities for the next generation of global leaders to undertake study, research, and professional development in Australia. Similarly, high-achieving Australians are afforded the chance to do the same overseas.

Eligibility Criteria: To be eligible for an Australia Awards Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be a minimum of 18 years old at the scholarship commencement.
- Be a citizen of a participating country (as listed on the Australia Awards website).
- Reside in and apply for the scholarship from their country of citizenship.
- Not be married, engaged, or a de facto of a person holding, or eligible to hold, Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency.
- Not be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
- Not be applying for another long-term Australia Award unless residency criteria are met.
- Satisfy any specific criteria set by the Program Area or the government of the applicant’s country.
- Satisfy admission requirements of the chosen institution.
- Satisfy all Department of Immigration and Border Protection requirements for a Student Visa.
Types of Courses: Australia Awards Scholarships may be available for various courses, including:
- Vocational Education and Training (VET) courses
- Bachelor degree (undergraduate) courses
- Master degree courses
- Doctorate degree (PhD) programs
Note: Australia Awards Scholarships do not support completion of studies already commenced in Australia.
