Important Announcement: Application Deadline and Eligibility Criteria
Dear Students,
We are pleased to announce the opening of the online application system for the Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme 2018-2019. The application system will open in mid-December 2017, and the deadline for submitting the complete application package is 31st January 2018.
Before applying to any program, please note the following important points:
- It is the sole responsibility of students applying for professional degrees (e.g., Medical, Engineering, Agriculture, etc.) to confirm accreditation from the respective Councils such as the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), Agriculture Council, and Nursing Council, etc.
- Applicants who fail to submit the online application form through both websites (HEC and Hungary) will not be considered for further processing.
About the Scholarship Programme:
The Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Programme 2018-19 is a bilateral Higher Education and Scientific Exchange Programme between the Government of Hungary and the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Government of Pakistan. All awards will be made based on academic merit, the quality of the research proposal, the potential of the candidate, and the likely impact of the work on the development of Pakistan. The Programme is managed by the Higher Education Commission, Islamabad, and the Tempus Public Foundation, Hungary.
Scholarship Types:
Stipendium Hungaricum scholarships are available for Pakistani students fulfilling basic eligibility criteria in specified disciplines and other requirements of Hungarian universities under the following programs:
- Bachelor Degree (4 years degree programme after 12 years of education)
- Master Degree (2 years degree programme after 16 years of education)
- PhD Degree (3 years doctoral degree (PhD) after 18 years of education)
Scope and Specific Areas of Study in Undergraduate, Masters, and Doctoral Degree Programmes:
Please refer to the attached document for detailed information on major disciplines, specific disciplines divided against each degree programme, and the scope of study in undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degree programmes.
Note:
- The students applying for programmes in English language must have appropriate knowledge of English at a level defined by the host Hungarian Institution.
- Only the specified disciplines/fields of studies mentioned in the document will be considered for the award of the scholarship.
- Once selected, the field of studies/disciplines chosen by any candidate cannot be changed before or after the award of the scholarship.
