IPI seeks applications for journalism micro-grants in Turkey
Call for Applications: IPI Journalism Micro-Grants in Turkey
The International Press Institute (IPI) invites applications from journalists in Turkey for micro-grants of up to €500. These grants aim to support the production of feature-style journalistic content analyzing the impact of pressure on press freedom in Turkey on various aspects of society.
Grant Details:
- Amount: Up to €500 per micro-grant
- Content Focus: Analyzing the consequences of press freedom restrictions on other aspects of society, examining links between restrictions and the rule of law, economic impact, and civil society resilience.
- Target Audience: International audience
Submission Requirements:
- Personal Information: Include full name, postal address, street address (if different), telephone number, email address, and relevant website.
- Proposed Content: Provide a detailed description (up to 400 words) of the content you plan to produce, addressing how it meets the call criteria. Identify the medium, themes, production plan, anticipated difficulties, and other relevant details.
- Journalistic Background: Describe your journalistic background (up to 400 words) and any skills or experience relevant to the content production.
Eligibility: Individual journalists from Turkey or those with substantial experience in Turkey who are currently physically present in the country.
Language: Applications must be submitted in English, but the produced content may be in Turkish or English. IPI will facilitate translation if required.
Application Deadline: Midnight (CEST) on October 26, 2017
Notification: Successful applicants will be notified by November 1, 2017, and will have two weeks to finalize the content. Published articles will be released in the first week of December.
